The Bay Area is an incredible place with a great public transportation system. At UAC, we believe that public transportation is an important tool that children can learn to use safely. Campers will learn how to read city and transportation maps, bus schedules and become familiar with modern forms of mapping technology. Every morning, after the group arrives, they meet as a team, discuss the day using a mind map, and make a plan for getting to their first pre planned destination. After plotting the course, they head out using trains, buses, ferries, or their own two feet. Usually a combination of multiple types of transportation gets the group where they want to go.
