History 2

Cost: $575/week Ages: 8 – 15 years Time: 8AM-4PM

Are you a history buff? If so, this camp is for you. You do not need to have taken History 1 to participate in this week; all you need is a love of all things historical. Come with us as we learn about the fort built to protect the San Francisco Bay during the Civil War. Watch the engines that pull all of the cable cars up and down the steep hills around San Francisco. See the Immigration Station where thousands of people first set foot into the United States in the early 1900’s.History 2 week at UAC offers campers a variety of opportunities to experience history like never before.

Trips:

Day 1 :  SF City Hall/ USS Pampanito/ SS Jeremiah O’Brien

Day 2 : Chinatown Back Alley Tour / Cable Car Museum / Wells Fargo History Museum

Day 3 : SF Historical Society Museum and Walking Tour

Day 4 : Angel Island / US Immigration Station

Day 5 : Fort Point

Note: All days have our primary museums/science centers listed above. Depending on the mood of the group and the continued excitement of the campers, instructors may take the group to extra activity locations.

Extra activity locations for this week may include: Golden Gate Park, Zeum, UC Berkeley Campus, Berkeley Marina, Berkeley Art Center, Fort Mason Center, Pier 39, Lake Merritt, Peralta Park, Golden Gate Park Arboretum, Berkeley Botanical Gardens, Local Galleries, Preservation Park, Jack London Square, Paramount Theater, Fox Theater

Cost:

The cost for a full week of Culinary camp is $575

With payment of camp fee, everything is included except lunch and pre and post day care (pre and post care are only available for camps at Rockridge BART). All museum entrance fees, transportation costs, instruction, and two snacks per day are included.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

In cases of dismissal or voluntary withdrawal, there is no refund of fees. Any cancellation at least two weeks prior to the start of the registered session will result in a refund of 75% of the camp fees less the deposit. Cancellations with notice of less than two weeks will result in a refund of 25% of the camp fee less the deposit. Cancellation the week of camp or a no-show on the day of camp will result in a full loss of payment. If a camper does not show for a registered session without notice, there will be no refund issued.

Location:

All camps meet and depart from the designated BART station. If you are interested in having UAC run any of the programs from another BART station or on a week they are not offered, please check out UAC Come to Me.
